Lars Mikkelsen-1Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen (born 6 May 1964) is an actor from Denmark. Danish actor from Denmark. He has appeared as Troels Hartmann (Copenhagen mayoral candidate) in The Killing and [1] Charles Augustus Magnussen (third series of Sherlock) as well as the Russian president Viktor Petrov on Netflix's American House of Cards, and Grand Admiral Thrawn from Star Wars Rebels. He was given the Reumert Prize of Honour in 2011. At the age of 27 He was enrolled at the National Theatre School of Denmark. He graduated from that school in 1995. He also appeared in The Killing's drama. [1] He then was on the show in Borgen III and Those Who Kill and Those Who Kill, both critically recognized Danish dramas. He also had a prominent role in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen.In the American television show House of Cards, he was the president of Russia. In 2018, he was awarded an International Emmy Award. His performance in the Danish TV drama Herrens Veje earned him an International Emmy Award. The show was broadcast in the UK in 2019, as Ride Upon the Storm.
