Amy Smart was an American model as well as actress. Growing up and being raised in California USA she started her modeling profession in Italy. In 1996 she debuted as an actress in the TV movie Her Costly Affair. Her struggle to land an appearance in Starship Troopers, a film which featured only minor characters, was very intense. It was at first was hard for Amy to transition from modeling to acting. This is because most models don't have the ability to act. They are typically assigned small and insignificant roles. However, Amy was determined to keep going and began to take on bigger roles eventually starting with the show The 70s and the film Varsity Blues. After a while, Amy took the leap to more prominent roles. The film she starred in was the 2005 romantic comedy Just Friends alongside Ryan Reynolds. Amy was recognized after more than ten years of working. Amy was in several big movies in the Crank trilogy with Jason Statham. And she was also a regular character on the Shameless series.
