Fawn Mckay

Fawn Brodie McKay born on the 15th of September 1915, was raised in Ogden Utah. Fawn MCKAY, who was born into the Mormon Church's First Family employed her creative talents and expertise in research to write the intriguing biographical psycho-historical study of Joseph Smith. Published in 1945 under the title"No Man knows My History, she used both. That title was taken from a funeral sermon delivered by the founder of the Church of Latter-Day Saints in 1844 when he startled those he addressed with the words"You don't even know me." I never told you about my heart. My story is not known to anybody. There is no way for me to share it with you. Fawn wrote the 29-year-old Fawn. Since then, at least three writers have taken on the task. Many have abhorred him and others have deified. A few have even made the diagnosis. Not that the documents are not there, but that they are so contradictory. The process of assembling these documents, sifting through first-hand and third-hand sources, fitting Mormons' tales of the past to those of non-Mormons into a true historical context - can be a challenge. It is fascinating and informative. Fawn brodie was professionally dedicated to this task. Her research and writings made her famous all over the world: Thaddeus Stephens. The DevilDrives. Thomas Jefferson. A personal biography of Richard Nixon (1974) as well as posthumously Richard Nixon.
